Hot on the heels of the Children’s Day airshow, Chiang Mai’s skies come alive once again as the Chiang Mai International Airshow Festival returns – this time with a bumper three-day extravaganza of aerial thrills and daring aviation. We’re talking flying displays, aerobatic performances, light aircraft, bi-planes, military flybys and more than 30 aircraft from Thailand and abroad. And for the bigger nerds – ahem, we mean fans – there’s a ton of exhibitions, aviation talks and interactive displays to explore. This airshow is actually more of a festival than a display, with a full OTOP market and community vendors also making an appearances, alongside remote-control jets and paragliding demos that you can get hands-on with (or hands-free if you dare), plus the chance to hop into a hot air balloon for a rare 360-degree view of the city.
Jan 23-25. Free. Details here. Chiang Mai Air Sports. Midday onwards
