Always dreamed of trying your hand at stand up comedy? The folks at Alt Ping River have got your back. Their workshop for beginners has you in mind, covering joke structure, laugh triggers and insight into developing your own comedic voice. No previous stage experience is necessary but you’re welcome to bring pre-written material with you – after all, it’s all about the gags, right? And with so many open mic nights across Chiang Mai, there’s nowhere better to cut your teeth. The jolly event is led by travelling comic and professional tree-saver Erica who’s performed in 25 countries and six languages on all sorts of stages, from stadiums to boats. But wherever she performs (Alt Chiang Mai if you didn’t catch it) she’s one who doesn't shy away from encouraging attendees to get up on stage, face the crowd and try out their best one-liners.
