If your week calls for something a little more heartfelt, this intimate gathering brings Chiang Mai’s music community together for a deeply personal tribute to the late, great Aek Wild Sax. Head over to OriginaLive and gather for an evening that shares the story behind a passion project years in the making – friends coming together to rehearse, perform, tour and ultimately record an album for Aek Wild Sax, fulfilling his dream of having his own CD. With all 500 copies now pressed (and never to be sold), the night also marks the release of ‘Animal Dance’ – one of Aek’s earliest songs and the final track recorded together before his passing, layered with the voices of those closest to him. Live music and storytelling are on the bill, with ample quiet time to lao khwan (share fond memories) and find out more about the moments and meanings behind his music.
