Anyone in Chiang Mai long enough knows there’s a deep-rooted passion for handicrafts throughout the city. Usually dotted all over the place, all the city’s best creatives have now come together in one place to make it extra easy for you to shop and sample their best. Officially named ‘Yeap Pak Thak Roi’ (which translates to ‘sew, stitch, knit and thread), there’s a strong focus on crochet, embroidery and jewellery – although there’s lots more besides if that’s not exactly your thing. Try your hand at tufting, make hats for your pets, craft bracelets from Murano glass and make mobiles with woolen felt. Or, if you’re more of a looker than a doer, browse the goods market, snack in one hand, drink in the other.
