If a Subko-fuelled fever dream and your friend’s cool dad’s (or even grandfather’s) vinyl collection had a baby, SH/FT would be it – the Gurgaon-based cafe scores with caffeine lovers and music lovers alike (and let’s be honest, most of us are both). The former turn up here for the precision coffee and comforting plates, while the latter can’t get enough of their vinyl collection – fuelled by Aftermarket Records – for listening sessions that flow late into the night. 

SH/FT’s equally designed for loud groups of friends and freelancers and WFHers ticking off deadlines, with plenty of charging points to match. Staff have scribbled on wall murals to show off their love for music, right beside the wall that holds the vinyl collection. By night, the energy shifts from Bruce Wayne to Batman. Lights are dim by 7, deeper vinyl cuts are spun, and wine and beer menus replace coffee and bakes. Listening sessions take over for the night, with a curated playlist calling the shots – moody jazz and disco grooves taking central stage.

And if the music changes, so do the brews and grub. If you are here during the day, soaking up the sunshine, the Brown Butter Toasted Milk Coffee deserves to be your go-to for its sweet and strong notes. In the mood to experiment? The Yuzu Ginger brew with Coke gets my vote for the best plot twist, with its zesty, almost spicy flavour. The juicy and generously portioned Busy Girl Chicken Tenders threaten to kill your appetite for dinner later; don’t let it. There's plenty more – including flatbread pizzas, tacos and sliders – to pair with their decently big wine and beer offerings. Get the corner table to do the most justice to them.
