For all of Delhi’s weather this month of the year, the city’s queer community never fails to pack in a calendar that, at the very least, makes up for the fact that it’s too hot to hold parades in June. You’ve got your shimmer and nightlife, but you’ve also got workshops, screenings, and some brilliant creative work all month-round. These are some of the best, tried and tested. Bring your friends – or even come alone and make some. Happy Pride!

Queer Rated Comedy at Depot48

A comedy show at a bar on a summer night is already perfect in theory. The guarantee that some jokes won’t land borderline homophobic or transphobic? Even better. When: June 4, 8pm onwards

Where: Depot48, M Block, GK2

Tinder Queer Made Weekend by Gaysi

This well-known yearly event by Gaysi Family and Tinder India has grown into one of India’s most visible queer cultural marketplaces over the years. It brings together queer-owned brands, artists, drag performers, musicians, zine-makers, illustrators, and small businesses, designed as an all-day experience. Gaysi's also teased an art party with Westland Books at KNMA in Saket on June 14, so look out for that.

Sidecar Means Business: Pride Edition

Now in its 5th edition, one of Delhi’s hottest bars (unanimously agreed upon) is hosting a mini-fair of six queer-owned ventures. Go for the marvellous cocktails and brave the heat on that famed tiny terrace, stay for copping some stunning pottery, clothes and badges.

When: June 21, 1pm-4pm.

Where: Sidecar, M Block, GK2

Entry: Free (but you will end up splurging).

Pride Ball, Depot48

Given that this is happening at a queer-owned institution of a bar, this night is especially going to be about bold looks. There’ll be drag performances, costume show-downs and trophies for ‘em, but I know for a fact my priority is being ready for every single smudge of glitter on my face to come off while I drown in my own sweat dancing. Make your own conclusions. By the way, Depot48’s also hosting its own Pride Fair a few days before this on June 7.

When: June 18

Where: Depot48, M Block, GK2

Entry: Through registration. Standard cover charges will apply.

Samaaj | Theatre

This show’s about two men who confront insecurities and hidden truths in their relationship, all refreshingly set in an accepting society. It promises to be a cutting dive into queer identity, the tension of their past, and the ever slippery slope between acceptance and rejection. Starring Jainil Mehta (also the director) and Kunaal Sangtani, music and poetry form important tenets of the show. By the way: it’s also happening in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.

When: June 20, 7.30pm onwards

Where: The Quorum, Gurugram

Tickets: ₹800 onwards
