The Surajkund Mela Ground in Faridabad’s gearing up for a festive weekend. The Haryana Tourism Department is hosting the third edition of the Surajkund Diwali Mela from October 23 to 26, 2026, a four-day celebration of handicrafts, handlooms, regional cuisine and folk culture, timed just ahead of Diwali.

It's more or less the festive cousin of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela. While the big annual fair happens in late January and February, this one is built around Diwali shopping, so expect decorations, gifts, artworks and festive essentials alongside the usual craft stalls. Artisans from across the country will be showcasing handloom products and traditional crafts, which makes it a good place to pick up gifts with a story behind them.

Hungry visitors are covered too. A dedicated food court will serve traditional Indian dishes and crowd favourites from different regions. Folk artists, dance troupes and traditional performers will take the stage through the four days, and renowned Sufi and folk singer Kanwar Grewal is scheduled to perform.

Beyond the shopping and snacking, the mela aims to give craftspeople a platform to display and sell their work, while drawing visitors from Delhi NCR and neighbouring regions to the area. Surajkund, which is traditionally associated with an ancient reservoir attributed to the Tomar ruler Suraj Pal, has long been a hub for cultural tourism in the region.
