German American Chamber of Commerce - Colorado says
The GACC will be holding a very unique Business Luncheon at the facilities of one of its newest Corporate members, the Aviation & Aerospace Science department at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. During lunch, the department chair, Dr. Jeff Forrest, will give an overview of MSU Denver and his department, and illustrate the educational aspects of aviation and aerospace. The presentation will be followed by a tour of the facility, including their high-tech training equipment and flight simulators.

The Robert K. Mock World Indoor Airport (WIA) at MSU Denver is one of the finest collegiate aviation and aerospace computer and flight simulation training laboratories in the world. The WIA is comprised of multiple labs that contain state-of-the-art, FAA-approved flight training devices (FTDs), aerospace computer-based training systems, air traffic controller (ATC) training stations and avionics equipment.

The WIA includes a variety of single and multiengine FTDs. The department also serves as a ground training program for the B-1900 aircraft – they use two B-1900 FTDs as part of that curriculum. Recent additions to their FTDs includes Avidyne Entegra and Garmin 1000 flight deck equipment, and a Cessna Citation C510 Mustang business jet simulator with a full 220 degree visual display system. A full-featured digital avionics lab is also included in the WIA.

In Metro’s Advanced Aviation and Aerospace Flight Simulation Training Lab (AAAFT), students work on analyzing and applying flight standards, LOFT training, and crew resource management using a fully functioning Canadair Regional Jet computer-based training system.
The lunch and tour are expected to end around 1:45pm. At the end of the tour, participants will have the opportunity to stay a little longer (30-45 minutes) and log some time in the flight simulators.

Space for this luncheon and the simulator time is limited, so register today! If you would like to stay for the simulator activity, please email Joshua Seeberg at seeberg(at)gacc-co.org to reserve your spot.
