CU Denver School of Public Affairs says
James K. Galbraith holds the Lloyd M. Bentsen Jr. Chair of Government/Business Relations at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, the University of Texas at Austin. He was part of a working group organized by Yanis Varoufakis, Greeceā€™s former minister of finance, during the Greek debt crisis. Galbraith was in Greece between February and July 2015, and witnessed the three-week closure of the Greek banks.

His forthcoming book, Welcome to the Poisoned Chalice: The Destruction of Greece and the Future of Europe, will be published in June 2016 by Yale University Press.

Galbraith holds degrees from Harvard (A.B., 1974) and Yale (Ph.D. in Economics, 1981). In 2010 he was elected to the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, the oldest honorary scientific society in the world. In 2012 he was President of the Association for Evolutionary Economics. He is a 2014 co-winner of the Leontief Prize for advancing the frontiers of economic thought.
