Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

Scandinavian-style bar with vintage decor and a good drinks selection. Regular events, such as comedy or quiz nights, attract a decent crowd.

Like its friendly Scandi-inspired sister bars across the city, everyone is Välkommen at Boda. An extended home-away-from-home for the local Leithers, young professionals and hipsters, this little(ish) space is littered with quirky vintage-style armchairs and comfy lived-in sofas.

A small bar with big ideas, Boda, like its siblings, offers a drinks menu for all seasons, with decent beers, local gins and a good selection of wines and cocktails, although snacks are limited to the odd cheeseboard.

In keeping with the village vibe, the regular pub quiz, and live music and comedy nights attract a decent crowd. Saturday’s current Sausage Sizzle and a Schooner offer – where from 5pm, drinkers get a Scandi sausage in a bap, and a beer on the side for £4 – does similarly well with the loyal crowd.

The back room is often used for pop-up shops and board game nights, so it’s worth keeping an eye on Boda’s Facebook page if you want to get involved.
