Bar specialising in local beers and build your own burgers with DJs, Champion’s League football and a popular pub quiz

The taps in this Newington bar feature local beers, including Barneys Porter, made just around the corner at Summerhall, Head East (coppery-coloured bitter from Dunkeld), or the Citra Burst or Ten Storey Malt Bomb from Alchemy Brewery out in Livingston. Besides the liquids, there are also Sunday roasts, ‘build-your-own’ burgers, mussels (fresh daily, and delicious, although they can be prone to running out early), fish and chips, steak sandwiches and haggis, all fairly affordably priced considering the big portions.

Depending on the night a local DJ might be providing a smooth soundtrack of rare disco and soul, or the bar could be packed full of football fans, stood round the screens showing European matches. Pub quiz nights get very busy too. Check The Reverie’s Facebook page for updates on beer tasting nights, 2-for-1 burgers and half-price cocktail deals.
