Wide Days, the Scottish music convention for those looking to make a career in the industry, is returning to Edinburgh on Friday April 10 and Saturday April 11. In addition to seminars from industry professionals, Wide Days also puts on two free gigs as a showcase for six of the best up and coming bands from Scotland.

The acts playing are:

Kathryn Joseph
Previously Kathryn has been known as 'Scotland's best kept secret', but that can't be said anymore - with tour dates supporting Broken Records, sessions on BBC and her album selling out on vinyl, it looks as though 2015 is the year where the otherworldly piano balladeer makes her breakthrough. Her album 'Bones You Have Thrown At Me And Blood I Have Spilled' is available on Bandcamp now.

C Duncan
The son of two classical musicians, C Duncan has grown up around music. Originally taking up piano and viola, he then joined bands at school where he learned guitar, bass and drums. His music bridges the gap between the classical and modern genres; he's recently been signed to Brighton based Fat Cat Records and will release his debut EP later in the spring.

Fiona Soe Paing
Fiona Soe Paing is a solo producer/vocalist who cannot just be listened to - her live show combines electronica with amazing projected images to create a 'live cinema' experience. Her current show 'Alien Lullabies' has been chosen for the 'Made In Scotland' showcase at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015.

Ded Rabbit
Brothers Eugene, Fergus, Donal and Eoin Gaine have been around. Born in Yorkshire and raised in the Highlands before finally settling in Edinburgh, Ded Rabbit are an alt pop/rock group along the lines of The Cribs and Arctic Monkeys. Their second EP 'Wake Up In A Dream' has been well received across Scotland, picking up airplay on Shore Radio, XFM and BBC Scotland.

Tijuana Bibles
Glasgow's Tijuana Bibles bring a deep south American styled blues-rock to Wide Days. This band have gone from strength to strength since releasing their debut EP in 2013 with support slots for The View, Alabama 3 and Deap Vally plus another two singles. Tijuana Bible will definitley provide a confident swagger at the event.

Catholic Action
Catholic Action have popped up on a number of 2015 'One To Watch' lists. They have been hard at it in the studio recording their debut album which is due out in September on Glasgow based FuzzKill Records. Look out for these guys as they hit the road in May.

Wide Days, various venues, Friday April 10 and Saturday April 11. You can register for free tickets to the Wide Days showcase gigs over at the Wide Days website.
