Electric Fields Festival takes place at Drumlanrig Castle on August 29. Now in its second year, it's one of the best places to catch great Scottish bands in one field this summer. The fest was set up in 2014 to provide music fans the ability to check out some of Scotland's best bands and not have to spend a fortune - complete with low-priced tickets, cheap bus travel from a variety of locations and pints for £3.50.

Here are five acts you should make time to see while you're there.

King Creosote
King Creosote will headline the Arc Stage at Electric Fields. What will he play? Who knows, as King Creosote has over 40 releases from which to pick the set-list. The latest album 'From Scotland With Love' was in the long list for this year's Scottish Album Of The Year Award

Kloe
Billed as the next big thing in Scotland at only 18 years old, Kloe already has picked up massive praise from the Scottish media. The dark electro-pop artiste is being compared to CHVRCHES and with Zane Lowe playing her debit release 'Grip' on his Radio 1 show, her rise in popularity may follow the same trajectory. Kloe also plays the Arc Stage at Electric Fields.

Victorian Trout Conspiracy
Victorian Trout Conspiracy are no strangers to the Scottish festival circuit having previously played Belladrum, Kelburn Garden Party and Linkylea to name but a few. The eight-piece rock-pop-ska-funk outfit, who are based in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, will be sure to get the festival crowd at Electric Fields in the party mood. Victorian Trout Conspiracy play To Lose La Trek.

Hector Bizerk
The Scottish hip-hop scene has exploded into life over the last five years and Hector Bizerk are among the front runners receiving plaudits in the Scottish press - and quite rightly so. Their fast paced lyrics and catchy melodies certainly make out for a cracking live show. Recent festival shows at T in the Park, Wickerman and Belldrum have proved that Hector Bizerk are one of the bands to see this summer. Check them out at Chase Valley.

Happy Meals
Originally hailing from Dumfries and Galloway, this will be a homecoming of sorts for synthpop duo Happy Meals. Now based between Glasgow and Orkney, their debut album was nominated for the Scottish Album Of The Year Award this year and fully deserved to make the final ten shortlist. Check out Happy Meals in The Skinny Tent.
