UK premieres and classic anime films will be screened in Edinburgh next month as part of Scotland Loves Anime.

Returning for the sixth year, the event will take place at the Filmhouse Cinema October 12-18 and will include guest speakers, awards and an Education Day hosted by Edinburgh College of Art featuring industry experts discussing all aspects of anime.

Screenings in Edinburgh will include the UK premieres of ‘Psycho-Pass – The Movie’ and ‘Ghost in the Shell – The New Movie’ alongside the first European showings of ‘Expelled from Paradise’ and ‘Love Live! The Movie’.

Other highlights will include the award-wining ‘Miss Hokusai’, which took home prizes at Fantasia Film Festival, and a showing of ‘Empire Corpses’ just weeks after it opens in Japan.

Scotland Loves Anime also features events in Glasgow and, for the first time this year, Aberdeen.

Scotland Loves Anime, Monday October 12-Sunday October 18, Filmhouse Cinema. Tickets £5.50-£9, concessions £4-£7.20.
