Just one month until Christmas Markets arrive in Edinburgh

Get ready to feel festive – it’s just one month until the European Christmas Market and Scottish Market arrive in Edinburgh for winter.

Whether you think it’s way too early to mention the C-word* or you’re already starting to feel the Christmas spirit, there’s no denying the arrival of the markets signal the beginning of the festive period.

For more than 20 years the European Christmas Market has brought a taste of the continent to Edinburgh and for the second year in a row the market will stretch from the Mound along East Princes Street and around the Scott Monument.

You’ll be able to warm up with a mug of gluhwein, snack on traditional German grub such as bratwurst, and browse the many stalls of handcrafted gifts and goodies on offer – and even if you don’t find that perfect Christmas gift, the general atmosphere will still put you firmly in the spirit of the season.

Meanwhile, at St Andrew Square you'll find the best in Scottish crafts, food and drink at the Scottish Market. Locally produced sausages, fresh seafood, chocolate, gin, craft beer and handcrafted jewellery are among the products that'll be on offer.

Both the European Christmas Market and Scottish Market launch in Edinburgh on Friday November 20 at 5pm and will be open from 10am-10pm until January 4 2016.

*Christmas, obviously.
