Breweries, award-winning chefs and even politicians have teamed up to create a range of unique collaborations for a celebration of local food and drink producers this weekend.

The Summer Beer and Food Festival is being hosted by Stewart Brewing at their Loanhead base and will showcase a range of brews made by various groups and individuals at their Craft Beer Kitchen.

Collaborators include Michelin-starred chef Tom Kitchin, distillery Edinburgh Gin, cheesemonger IJ Mellis, S Luca Ice Cream and MSPs Patrick Harvie and Richard Lochhead, along with local breweries such as Black Metal, Top Out and Carbon Smith.

Two tutored taster sessions with food pairings will take place with IJ Mellis will providing a cheese starter followed by a main cooked up by Tom Kitchin’s team and a dessert from S Luca Ice Cream. All three will talk you through the flavours and how they match with their beer while you enjoy the grub.

Live music, street food and a beer garden – if the weather's decent – will also be on offer. If you’re not into beer, Stewart’s have also brewed cider and created their own lemonade and cola recipes for the occasion.

Summer Beer and Food Festival, Saturday August 1, noon-6pm, tickets £10 with two half pint tokens, Stewart Brewing, 26a Dryden Road, Loanhead.
