Monteiths offers an escape from the tourist-jammed High Street, it has an atmospheric entrance down a close (narrow alley) decorated with fairy lights while the interior has an appealing, subterranean feel. It scores with loved up couples and visitors to the city but arch foodies picking over their £12.00 lunchtime fish and chips may not be so enthralled. Or just go for a Pina Colada.
