Laurent Martin “Lo” – Sur les chemins du bambou

Laurent Martin is a lover of bamboo, landscapes and movement, and this love exudes from his works. The French artist who now resides on the Costa Brava uses traditional techniques to construct mobile sculptures such as the ones on show in the exhibition 'Sur les chemins du bambou' (On paths of bamboo) at Can Mario (Fundació Vila Casas) in Palafrugell. It's an installation that brings together experiences accumulated during a decade dedicated to this material, which Martin considers has an extraordinary value. Visit the show and you'll pass through a forest of suspended sculptures, and feel sensations of fragility and immensity at the same time. It's a habitable jungle in which contemplation, meditation and transcendence take you along totally unexpected paths.
