La Galleria opens on 9 January 2026 at Unioninkatu 30, just steps from the city’s historic heart. According to the restaurant, its name is inspired by Italian Renaissance galleries places where colour, creativity and craftsmanship once flourished. The aim is to bring that same passion to the dining table.

Helsinki already has no shortage of good pizzerias, but La Galleria stands out thanks to its striking Morello Forni pizza oven, almost three metres across and the largest in the country. Decorated with gold-toned mosaic tiles, the oven is a centrepiece in its own right, with a hint of Byzantine-style grandeur.

Alongside pizzas, the menu features a range of Italian classics, including fresh pasta, cured meats, risotto and rack of lamb. Pasta is made daily using a Sirman pasta machine, while cold cuts are sliced by hand on a traditional Berkel Volano slicer.

Pizza prices mostly hover around the €20 mark. A Margherita starts at €15, while the most expensive option on the menu is a €29 truffle pizza.

La Galleria. Unioninkatu 30. Opening hours: Tue–Fri 16–23, Sat 13–23, Sun 12–22
