En su gira informativa y de peticion de apoyo por los Estados Unidos, los familiares y padres de los #43EstudiantesNormalistas vienen a #Houston denunciando la represión que sufren los estudiantes y la población civil de manos de los órganos represivos de poder, policía y ejército, y esperan que sus quejas sean oídas por organizaciones en defensa de los derechos humanos. Irónicamente los padres, vienen denunciando la represión del estado en contra de sus hijos y encuentran que aquí mismo en los Estados Unidos las minorías (Latinos y Afroamericanos) son víctimas de la misma brutalidad policiaca que están denunciando. La falta de interés por el bienestar de las minorías y el trato prejuicioso de la policía muestra el nulo interés en encontrar formas de proteger a la sociedad civil mientras que se respetan sus derechos. Más de una muerte de hermanos afroamericanos ha ocurrido en los últimos meses. Y al parecer, no hay indicios de que esto termine pronto. Esta situación es lo que estrecha aún más los lazos entre estas dos comunidades (Afroamericanos y Latinos) y por tal motivo, hacemos una atenta invitación a que cerremos filas en defensa de los derechos civiles y humanos y luchemos juntos como aliados y hermanos. ENGLISH INVITATION: In request of support and informative tour throughout the United States, parents and relatives of the 43 kidnapped and missing students arrive to Houston as part of a caravan that plans to travel all across the United States raising awareness about the Human Rights Crisis Mexico is undergoing. Relatives have denounced the repression of students and civilians at the hands of the repressive organs of power, such as the police and army, and their goal is to raise awareness and be heard by the international community and organizations in defense of human rights. Ironically, parents have denounced state repression against the students in Mexico, only to find out that, here in the United States, minorities (Latinos and African Americans) are victims of the same thing; police brutality. The lack of concern for the welfare of minorities and prejudicial treatment by police shows no interest in finding ways to protect civil society while respecting their rights. Increased numbers of African American deaths have been occurring, at the hands of the police, in these recent months and apparently there is no indication that this will end soon. This situation strengthens ties between Latino and African American communities and is why we are kindly inviting you to close ranks in defense of civil and human rights and fight together as allies and brothers.
