The City offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified police officer applicants. The Pearland Police Department is a growing, professional department with many opportunities for advancement. The Department currently has 167 sworn police positions. The scheduled test date for interested applications is Saturday, May 27 and applicants must apply online by May 8.

Pearland Police Officers enforce all local, state and federal laws in the City’s jurisdiction to prevent crime and disorder and maintain the quality of life by providing a safe and peaceful environment for all residents. Applicants interested in joining the Police Department’s mission to provide professional service to the community and develop citizen partnerships to work together to enforce laws, reduce fear and positively impact the quality of life in Pearland are encouraged to apply.

Along with a job-related assessment process that includes a written exam and a psychical agility test, those selected will be subject to a medical exam including a drug screen, fingerprinting through the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and a background investigation. In accordance with federal law, all applicants must be able to provide proof of identity and proof that they may legally work in the United States.

Current TCOLE-certified applicants with at least two years law enforcement experience and who have/will have an Honorable designation on their F-5 may qualify for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
