The Texas 1836 Band has been playing in the Honky Tonks and Dance halls of the greater Houston area, as a unit, since May of 2013. They specializes in covering such artist in the Texas Country / Red Dirt music genre such as, Jason Boland, Reckless Kelly, Charlie Robison, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Pat Green, Roger Creager Kevin Fowler and many others. However, they also play a fair amount of classic country dance tunes from some crowd favorites like George Strait, Gary Stewart, Merle Haggard and Alan Jackson, just to name a few. No night would be complete however, without a touch of some of the Southern Rock classics cover tunes from such legendary groups like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Marshall Tucker. This combination of music styles makes the band versatile enough to play dance halls or venues where the audience wants to sit back and actively listen to quality music for their entertainment. This unique blend of music will also appeal to both younger and older audiences alike in your venue. There will also be some original new material written by the members of the band, to be added to the set list in 2014.

Speaking of members of the band, the Texas 1836 Band is made up of some extremely professional and seasoned musicians that know how to entertain a crowd all night long. The Band is five members, featuring Greg Brown - Lead Vocals/ Rhythm guitar, Larry Evans - Bass guitar, Deiter Scholtz - Lead guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica and vocals, Jesse Seacatt - Rhythm / Lead guitar, vocals and a touch of fiddle, and Lou Urwitz - Drums and vocals. With five members on stage, The Texas 1836 Band delivers a large sound that does each song justice and will have your audience tremendously entertained all night long.
