"Inside and Outside the Jali: Re-Visioning History through Anila Quayyum Agha's Intersections"

Professor Joseph teaches eighteenth-century British literature and postcolonial studies. For her lunchtime talk at Rice Gallery, she will discuss Anila Quayyum Agha's installation as it relates to jali, ornamental screens used in Indian architecture, and how this "window" frames our understanding of the multiple histories Agha alludes to in her work.

The talk will be 15-20 minutes followed by a 10 minute Q&A. Please bring your lunch and join us!
