Life Drawing. Photography. Inebriation.

Hannah Bull and Honey Moonpie present:
Formalism featuring Traci Lavois Thiebaud

"Formalism is the study of art by analyzing and comparing form and style—the way objects are made and their purely visual aspects."

The Sketchbook Saloon has always tried to diversify and select models that practice diverse crafts, have unique looks and will provide a show that is unlike any other life drawing class. This month, we're pushing the envelope and curating a show that will both transform your perspective on visual art and provide a transcendental experience as to what makes something beautiful. Aesthetics vary among each person and this is a chance to find that idiosyncratic pattern that applies to yourself. A blissful moment of self awareness.

Our model this month is Traci Lavois Thiebaud. She rocks a shaved head and is absolutely beautiful beyond words. Her strength, power and prestige in multiple facets makes her a warrior for all women. She's a writer, graphic artist, improv queen for Beta Max, performance artist and just an all around bad ass bitch.

Traci's Biography:
Traci is a poetess, zinestress, and more who you’ve probably seen on the streets banging out poems on an old fashioned typewriter, or helping run shit at BETA Theater, or maybe just galavanting around town in various states of undress. Traci received a bachelor's degree in theater performance from the University of Houston, trained in improv comedy at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in LA, and is a self-taught poet and collage artist. She is the founder and "head bitch" at Whatever, Mom Publications, a DIY tiny press operating out of her living room. Traci takes her bound works on the road and has completed two book tours across the country in the last year and half. She is head of curriculum at BETA Theater and a member of the house improv troupe MAX. Additionally, Traci is one of the resident weirdos at Dinolion, a creative production company pumping out many-headed-media-monsters. Traci values collaboration and enjoys passion projects with people she loves. She believes deeply in the power of yes.
