The Martini, A Montrose Art Party says
It is time for one of Art League Houston's most important events, the Montrose Art Party, or MARTY, which supports the Healing Art Program. Originally founded by Houston artist Patrick Palmer in 1990, the program provides weekly art classes to adults living with chronic illnesses and physical disabilities including HIV/AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and physical disabilities.

Each year, the event has a special theme. This year’s MARTY, "The Martini," is co-chaired by Bobby Bass, Robert S. Daniel, and Susan Brock Quarles, and will be a casual, retro cocktail party inspired by the classic martini cocktail. The event will feature music by Flash Gordon Parks, delectable bites, and a cash bar with beer from Saint Arnold Brewing Company, and a special martini made with Deep Eddy Vodka.Admission to this event is FREE.

An exhibition of artwork by the Healing Art artists and guest curated by Patrick Turk will be on view in the Main Gallery.

Additionally, an exciting silent auction will be on view in the Hallway Gallery, featuring work by Kelly Alison, Brittney Anele, Catherine Colangelo, Julie Tuesday, John Forse, Michael Golden, Gao Hang, Blake Jones, Anin Kciniram, Abidemi Olowonira, Patrick Michael Palmer, Patrick Renner, S Rodriguez, Claire Webb, Sarah Welch, Mary Beth W, and Dick Wray (Courtesy of Lauri Wray). A portion of the artwork proceeds will help ensure the continuation of this vital program.
