World Affairs Council of Greater Houston says
Please join the World Affairs Council for a Young Professionals event at which Todd Moss from the Center for Global Development will discuss recent U.S.-Cuba Relations!

In December 2014, the Obama and Castro administrations surprised much of the world by announcing a historic agreement ending America's 50 year-old policy of isolation towards Cuba. Secret negotiations took place for more than 18 months and involved a wide range of strategies, principals, and middle men, including Pope Francis. How are such diplomatic breakthroughs achieved? Can lessons from this momentous agreement be applied to other seemingly intractable international impasses?

Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and bestselling author Todd Moss will address how the Obama administration completed the deal with Cuba and offer insights into the world of diplomatic negotiations. He will also discuss his critically acclaimed book Ghosts of Havana and how this fictional thriller illuminates the complex realm of international relations.

After the talk, copies of Ghosts of Havana (which is part of the Judd Ryker novel series) will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
