If your Spotify playlist has been constantly calling you out for an unhealthy obsession with Punjabi folk and some genre-breaking bangers lately, here’s a live gig you should bookmark for your calendar. Singer-songwriter Rashmeet Kaur is returning with her folk-fusion music to Mumbai and Delhi this August.

The composer will kick off her mini tour in Delhi on August 22 before heading to Mumbai on August 28. The metro cities have never fallen short of concerts, but this one’s honestly also for you if you’ve never explored beyond rock-n-roll. Expect some genre-breaking bangers and soulful melodies... and some good-old chorus screaming, of course.

Who’s Rashmeet Kaur?

The singer-composer-songwriter, who’s built a loyal fanbase over the years, began her career by appearing on reality TV shows – you might have seen her as a contestant in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2012. Rashmeet is known for blending Punjabi folk songs with multiple Western genres like hip-hop and electronic music, creating something nostalgic and definitely impossible not to dance to.

From the chart-topping Bajre Da Sitta and Nadiyon Paar – even if you don’t recognize the names, you’ve certainly heard at least some of these songs – to Janiye, Ghana Kasoota and Nachaawe, Rashmeet’s songs have become a fixture, whether on wedding dance floors, house parties with friends or late-night drives.
