Japanese anime and manga lovers convene in the spirit of Purim

The culture of Japanese anime has been spreading across the world for decades and creates the most incredible niche of Purim costumes in Israel. But much more than their colorful wigs, decked out makeup and intricately detailed costumes and accessories, Israeli manga enthusiasts are given the opportunity to celebrate the things they love among like-minded fans. The convention, organized by AMAI (the Association for Manga and Anime in Israel) brings enthusiasts together for lectures, workshops, panels, booths, and the main event, the cosplay competition, where fans can dress up, bringing to life their favorite characters from Japanese video games and cartoons.
