Rampart casino, inside JW Marriott, is among Las Vegas’s most expansive and luxurious, with a stunning, palm-painted backlit dome over the pit. The table and slot chairs are extremely swish, helping to make this a hugely comfortable place. There’s a story behind it all: the casino was originally designed to attract affluent visitors, but it turned out that few were willing to take the $50 cab ride from the Strip and the place went bankrupt. The new owners hired a veteran management group that instead targeted affluent Summerlin locals with unexpectedly low minimums and decent slot-club benefits.
Games: Baccarat ($100–$5,000); blackjack ($5–$5,000); craps (10x; from $5); Crazy 4 poker; keno; mini baccarat ($5–$500); pai gow poker; roulette (double zero).
