Time Out says

Will Ferrell’s got a good schtick going playing characters who cruise along on misplaced bluster, including anchorman Ron Burgundy, NASCAR champ Ricky Bobby, and now Chazz Michael Michaels, the bad boy of figure skating. Affable he may be, but the signs are that he shouldn’t make a career of it. This middling effort’s not unlike ‘Talladega Nights’ on ice, with the star strutting his stuff while the surrounding humour pokes fun at the sport in question. With its sartorial atrocities and air of hair-tossing pomposity, ice skating’s a worthy target, affectionately lampooned here. The zinger is that Ferrell and rival Jon Heder have been banned from the men’s world championships after a brawl, but there’s nothing to say they shouldn’t be the first all-male duo to compete in the doubles. Ice burns and much falling over ensue as low-level goofball wit’s grafted on to formular sports movie plotting. Personable enough, though genuine belly laughs are in short supply.
