Bollywood assaults our sensibilities again with yet another seriously embarrassing sequel. Four fathers with four single daughters and four prospective grooms get thrown together under one roof. All four ‘papas’ believe their future son-in-law is a millionaire called ‘Jolly’. What follows is a failed attempt at homage to (or a pastiche of) a classic screwball comedy.
The film’s skewed logic defies any attempt at a coherent credible plot, which would be okay if the set-pieces were actually funny. The good-looking leads have no clue about comic timing; they equate shouting with acting. Spiced up with a saucy ‘item’ dance number and cameos from a crocodile and a python, this crude, loud and silly movie delights in its own absurdity. Its intended audience will probably love it.
