A prolific and welcome presence last decade, Bryony Kimmings made splash after splash with a series of high concept, visually sumptuous, very funny performance art shows in which she tackled everything from her attempt to determine who gave her an STD to her efforts to reinvent herself as a wholesome pop star who could provide a suitable role model for her niece. She’s been quiet for a while since – possibly as a result of her last major outing being co-writing the extremely profitable seasonal 2019 romcom Last Christmas.
Or possibly it's been a little more than that. She's back with a very Kimmings-esque return to solo work with Bog Witch, which traces her decision to quit the city, and take her son to go live with her in a cottage in the wilderness and lie a full on eco lifestyle.
In other hands this could potentially just amount to a big po-faced lecture about the environment, but you can reply on Kimmings to make it all amusing, weird, and as if you’re catching up with an old pal (who happens to be a bog witch).
