The 1960s

This exhibition's artists reads like a list of great Great British talent from the decade in question. 

Back in the 1960s, the Whitworth underwent a transformation akin to this new one, extending both as a physical space and as a collector or work.

Some of the best from that period is on show, with work by the likes of ELixabeth Frink, Peter Blake, Richard Hamilton and Bridget Riley reminding us all of why that was such a vital decade in art.
