The original Alchemist, located on Hardman Street since 2010. Now with an ‘out of this world’ refurbishment for 2022, the venue has secured its place in the city’s cocktail scene with a distinctive, exciting approach to mixology – the concoctions here are a real party piece.

As a pioneer in the area, the venue offers a mix of food and drink from early mornings ‘til late night. Enjoy a weekend DJ set and late-night drinks tables and packages. Chemistry and theatre are on the cocktail menu (literally) with guest favourites Cherry Poppins and The Colour Changing One. The former raspberry gin concoction arrives with a cherry infused fog bubble waiting to be released, whereas the latter lets you conjure your own magical potion transforming before your very eyes.

Choice is on the food menu with 44% plant-based options alongside both vegetarian and meat dishes. The Curried Fish is a highlight with a fragrant coconut curry sauce, snap peas, samphire, crispy noodles and jasmine rice. Or devour their signature Chicken In A Basket with buttermilk crispy pieces served with fries, coleslaw and Hickory BBQ sauce.
