The Study at Manchester Museum is now open but what's going on there?

The opening Autumn schedule is packed with things to do, but here's a taster to get you started.

Opening Day - Sat 12 September, 11am-4pm, drop in, free
Go and find out for yourself what The Study is going to be doing with an open day filled with workshops, talks and exploration. The exhibition by Nyaba Ouedraogo inspired by Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness' is one show, Manchester Craft Mafia are there to make things with you, and the Biospheric Studio will be there to talk about the latest developments from them.

The Bio-historic Banquet - Sat 12 September, 6.30pm till late, £50
In conjunction with the Manchester Food and Drink Festival, chef Robert Owen Brown creates a dining experience which is ultra local, made from food grown by the Biospheric Studio.

Science Uncovered: Manchester - Fri 25 September, 6pm-10pm, drop in, free
An evening of talks, debates, experiment, music and speed dating, yes really, as some of Manchester's finest scientific minds gather to take over The Study for the evening.

Kate Mosse: The Taxidermist's Daughter - Fri 16 October, 7pm, £8/£6, via Manchester Literature Festival
The popular novelist reads from her latest book, 'The Taxidermist's Daughter.' Guess where the talk will be held? If you're thinking of all of the stuffed animals in the Living Worlds section of the museum, you're spot on.

Foodhack: Schrooming the Technos - Thu 29 October, 5.30pm-9pm, free but book via thestudymcr.com
The Biospheric Studio presents this look at how technology and ecology can integrate to bring more effective methods of food production and distribution.

Pop Goes The Biosphere - Fri 20 November, 5.30pm-9pm, free but book via thestudymcr.com 
An examination of how cities like ours will face up to the challenge of creating living spaces that take on the ecological needs of the future. With Istvan Kenyeres from the Bioplus Institute of Budapest.
