A new Northern Quarter bookshop is on its way and will encourage patrons to not only read great works but also attempt to create their own.

Chapter One Books, which is to open on Lever Street, will feature typewriter booths so if you feel inspired while visiting you can get to work on your own short story or novel.

The store will mainly focus on fiction but also cover areas including art and entertainment, biographies, personal development, religion and spirituality, and travel and languages. The operators said they will focus on titles which aren’t available elsewhere and will be regularly changing their stock.

There will also be a café and a mini theatre with 50 seats to host performances from storytellers, poets and musicians.

Chapter One Books is to open on April 1.
