The Colour Run comes to Manchester this July and, as the participants are also known as 'the happiest 5k on the planet', it seems appropriate to reveal what it is that makes them happy on this, the International Day of Happiness.

5000 of the 2015 colour runners were polled to find out just what does make them happy, and the results are in.

What's the colour run? With 2 millions people taking part across the planet last year, it's one of the biggest global events here is, a 5km race which sees you covered in a different colour powder every 1km. By the end, you're a veritable rainbow. And whilst it's great fun, the point is to promote well-being, health and happiness. Sound good so far?

So, exactly what did the poll find out? Was it health that topped the list? Was it wealth? Spending time with your children?

Here's the list.

Laughing with friends
Throwing shapes on the dance floor
Smiles
Sunshine
Cuddles
Being covered in colour
The beach
Dogs
Karaoke
Singing when no-one is listening
Pyjama days
Trampolines
Kittens
Beyoncé
Ryan Gosling
One Direction
Ice cream
Dunking a spoon in Nutella / peanut butter
Robert Pattinson

We could be wrong but we'll go out on a limb here and guess that the majority of those polled were of the female variety.

What do you think of their choices?

The Colour Run comes to Manchester on Sunday 5 July at the Etihad Stadium.
