Time Out says

One man tries to find his balance in an unstable world in this acclaimed full-length contemporary solo by celebrated choreographer and performer Akram Khan

Desh means ‘homeland’ in Bengali and, in what is Akram Khan’s most personal work to date, he has collaborated with the Oscar-winning visual artist Tim Yip (‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’) to bring an astonishing new piece of dance to the stage.

It’s always a pleasure to see Khan’s choreography but a greater one to watch him dance, so this chance to see the man perform a work which weaves themes of memory, myth and experience into sublime movement, is a treat not to be missed.

Desh is performed in advance of Khan’s new exhibition at The Lowry, ‘One Side To The Other’ which opens on November 15.
