Cruz 101

For well over twenty years, Cruz 101 has been the biggest and longest lasting of Manchester's gay clubs. Others have been and gone - Essential, Legends, Paradise Factory - but Cruz has outlived them all by never ever changing.

Stepping through the doors, it's almost as if the last decade didn't happen. Drag queens, bears, twinks, muscle marys, all gather to drink and dance to music which really should be left on a closet case's iPod. 

And yet, somehow, it works. With different themed nights throughout the week, it's just about the only nightly gay club Manchester has left. So, here's to the next twenty years. They'll probably be playing the same records.

There's Sub 101 too, the club's basement, where 'specialist' nights happen from time to time.
