El Gato Negro has the best tapas in Manchester. The food here is stunning, and full of flavour. I went for my mum's birthday, and it did not disappoint. The service was fantastic, and the ambience there is just right. We had a good selection of dishes, including the ox cheeks, mussels, salt cod croquetas and the carrots (which were so tasty!). I will absolutely be going again to try the rest of the menu, maybe next week?

Since its arrival, El Gato Negro has helped give the ailing King Street a new lease of life, with an array of authentic, delicious tapas dishes. Everything here is incredible, from the fluffy salt cod croquetas and blistered padrón peppers to the scotch eggs, which come wrapped in morcilla and mushroom duxelle. The chargrilled lamb skewers, which come with a spiced chickpea purée and harissa, are so good they'll have you planning a return trip before you've even finished your meal.

The place has a tendency to get booked up pretty far in advance, so be prepared to wait. It's well worth it though.
