A new Indian restaurant on Left Bank, Spinningfields. Recognisable curry house staples are available but this place is much more than just bhunas, baltis and biryanis.
A range of chaats include samosas, aloo tikka, pani puri and dahi bhalla, while 'street corner' starters range from king prawn tikka, lamb chops and seekh kebabs to fish amritsari, tangdi chicken and jingha til tinka - king prawns marinated with sesame oil and spices before being coated with breadscrumbs and fried until golden brown.
Meatier mains include signature dishes such as chicken jaipuri, butter chicken and monkfish cooked in a mild masala sauce. Expect, too, tandoori mixed grills, chicken chettinad and dhaba murgh - a Punjabi dish of chicken cooked in a thick sauce with spring onions, fresh coriander and traditional spices.
