Thyme Out Deli

Breakfasts at this West Didsbury deli are fantastic, with eggs laid by their own chickens. Customisable hampers make a fine gift

Have you ever been served an egg so fresh and velvety that you felt it must surely have been laid especially for you? At West Didsbury's Thyme Out Deli, you can personally thank the egg producers while they're roaming round the garden.

At £10.95, the Foodies Breakfast might carry the price tag of a main, but the size means it’ll likely eclipse your lunch. Featuring venison and pork belly sausages, horse shoe Bury black pudding and your choice of a freshly laid and poached hen or duck egg, it’s a firm favourite. Other breakfast choices include fresh fruit and granola and Spanish churros with chocolate.

Lunch comes in the form of paninis, jacket potatoes, salads and burgers, all of which come with the unusual-but-excellent house cajun mango slaw. Take-out is available, as it catering, if you’ve a party to please.

Want to take home a souvenir? There’s also a deli stocking olives, cheeses, homemade pies, charcuterie and eye-widening cakes, all of which can be included in a tailor-made hamper. Personalised bottles of oil and vinegar are offered too, as well as hand-painted tea pots.

This is an amazing place to eat breakfast. When its warm the outside garden is so nice to sit in and there is a terrace on the front too. There are loads of tables but because of the layour I think groups of 6 and under would get the best experience.

Didsbury has a really great bar and cafe culture but Thyme Out is my favourite place in the area to go for brunch.

Its popular but worth a small wait for sure.

the Eggs Cocotte are delicious! I definitely recommend them to anyone and the coffee is good too.
