Time Out says

The ever popular Manchester Duck Race returns for a seventh successive year on Good Friday, March 25, attracting thousands of families to the banks of the river Irwell.

Everyone is encouraged to enter the race, with ducks available on the day for £1 each and with all proceeds going to local kid's charity Brainwave, which helps children suffering brain damage with educational and physical therapies across the UK.

The race starts at 2pm, and there are family-friendly activites on offer throughout the day, with film screenings in the newly launched Garden at Leftbank plus street food, craft workshops, music, the Urban Farm petting zoo and fairground rides throughout the Spinningfields area of town.
