Office for Equity and Diversity - University of Minnesota says
The University of Minnesota will host the 35th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute featuring Committed, an a cappella singing group comprised of five educated young men. The group had the amazing opportunity to be featured on the second season of NBC’s hit singing competition, “The Sing Off,” and emerged as the season two champions. The group, one of the nation's top-ten a cappella groups, has also been nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award (Best A Cappella Arrangement).

The concert will also feature:
- Chicago native and Minneapolis-based jazz vocalist Pippi Ardennia (http://pippiardennia.com/)
- Singer/Songwriter Sheri Hixon (http://www.sherihixon.com/); accompanied by: Martial Besombes - band director/pianist; Yohannes Tona - bassist; and Brian Kendrick - percussionist

This program, jointly sponsored by the Office for Equity and Diversity and the School of Music, honors Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Dr. Reginald Buckner, founder of the MLK, Jr. Concert.

The concert is free of charge and open to the public; no advance tickets or reservations are required.
