A Reading with Athena Kildegaard, Su Smallen, and Valerie Wetlaufer


Athena Kildegaard is the author of four books of poetry: Rare Momentum;, Bodies of Light, a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award); Cloves & Honey, a finalist for the Midwest Book Award); and Ventriloquy, new from Tinderbox Editions. She teaches at the University of Minnesota, Morris.

Su Smallen is the author of six collections of poetry. Her first book, Weight of Light, was nominated for the Pushcart Press Editors’ Book Award, and Buddha, Proof was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award. She has two books forthcoming in 2016: You This Close with Red Dragonfly Press and Kinds of Snow with Green Writers Press.

Valerie Wetlaufer is a poet, editor, and educator. She holds a PhD in Literature & Creative Writing from the University of Utah, an MFA from Florida State University, and an MA in Teaching from Bennington College. She is the author of Call Me by Me by My Other Name and Mysterious Acts by My People, winner of the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Poetry. Valerie lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
