Fruit Tree Fest! says
Fruit Tree Fest is about being the change we want to see in the world. We're bringing together artists, musicians, community members, activists, urban gardeners, fruit tree enthusiasts, and YOU to connect and co-create our vision of a sustainable, fully-fed, and peaceful community. We're also celebrating the planting of our new Community Fruit Tree Orchard with music from local artists and a dinner buffet at Gandhi Mahal.

Families and neighbors are invited to learn about how Gandhi Mahal restaurant and other organizations are growing healthy food in backyard gardens and aquaponics systems, supporting local farmers, and promoting regenerative agriculture to address climate change. At Fruit Tree Fest, you'll find out how to get involved with the Gandhi Mahal Interfaith Garden this summer, as well as the new Community Fruit Tree Orchard. Connect to local artists and musicians, meet your neighbors, and dig in to the food justice movement in Minneapolis.

Here's what the night will look like:

FRUIT TREE ORCHARD PLANTING 5:30-6:30 pm Come early to help us plant seven fruit trees in our new community orchard (located less than half a block directly south of the restaurant - meet us on the sidewalk). Bring your own gloves if you can. Please email sustainability@gandhimahal.com if you plan on attending the fruit tree planting so we can plan for supplies and tasks accordingly. Members of New City Church - Minneapolis's Fruit Tree Team will be teaching us how to plant fruit trees using two methods that encourage prolific growth and lots of fruit!

LIVE MUSIC & DINNER BUFFET 7-10 pm Doors open at 6:30, live music by local artists starts at 7 pm in the Community Room at Gandhi Mahal Restaurant. Musicians include Illusion Elena, Stay Woke, & Madd Oso. Tickets are $15 at the door, CASH ONLY. Your ticket covers the cost of the dinner buffet and supports our musicians for sharing their art with us! Cash bar also available.

**Donations are welcome throughout the evening to support the Gandhi Mahal Interfaith Garden, a collaboration between Gandhi Mahal Restaurant- Minneapolis MN, Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light, and First Nations Kitchen to grow healthy, culturally-relevant food, create a radically welcoming space for community to thrive, and practice regenerative agriculture.
