Legends Of Ska says
FILM & Q & A with Brad Klein, film's producer and director.

Legends of Ska focuses on the lives of a variety characters who played a significant role in the early ska days of the 1960s. The film chronologically follows the history of original Jamaican ska from January 1962 through May of 1966, plus explore the jazz/boogie woogie & sound system days which preceded it. During that period, the islanders achieved independence from Great Britain, danced underneath the Cuban Missile Crisis and subsequently created their own unique genre of music.

The spine of the film is exclusive 24P Hi-Definition footage of songs performed and recorded from the Legends Of Ska concerts held in Toronto during the summer of 2002. Songs are interspersed throughout the film. Of the 40 authentic artists who have thus far participated in this project, everyone is either over 60 years of age or has passed on.
