About the Presenter
Presentation and film screening by Juan Sánchez in relation to the exhibition, Covered in Time and History: The Films of Ana Mendieta. Juan Sánchez is an artist, curator, and Professor of Art at Hunter College, New York. He included Ana Mendieta in the exhibition Ritual and Rhythm: Visual Strategies for Survival in New York in 1982. About the Exhibition
Covered in Time and History: The Films of Ana Mendieta is the first gallery exhibition and catalogue specifically devoted to the filmworks made by this highly acclaimed and influential artist. The exhibition is comprised of 21 filmworks and 26 related photographs -- the largest collection of Mendieta’s filmworks ever presented as a full-scale gallery exhibition in the United States.
