A feisty pre-op transsexual (Cervera) whores and hotfoots her way throughout this nutty Spanish romp, which could pass for one of Pedro Almodvar’s rookie efforts. Our heroine longs to get rid of her, uh, extra baggage (the title indicates how much) and become a real woman, like the singing, dancing star she imagines herself to be in her vivid dreams (which are frequent—she’s narcoleptic). Meanwhile, she tries to land a legitimate job and a romance, interacting with an assortment of kooks, including her swaggering little-person roommate and a trannie pal, zestily portrayed by Almodvar’s big-nosed favorite, Rossy de Palma.
