Time Out says

2 out of 5 stars

Writer-director Alexis Lloyd’s ensemble drama treats cinematic points of view like a sexually transmitted disease, following a virgin (Condola Rashad) to her deflowering by an old friend (Justin Kirk). Then the friend encounters a tarot card reader (Jennifer Tilly), who promptly hooks up with a bike messenger (Jason Day); he pines for a heart patient (Paz de la Huerta), and so on. It’s Crash’s everyone-is-connected formula as a softcore sex flick: lots of frank dialogue, a healthy sprinkling of nudity and little palpable heat. There’s an interesting idea about the way people assume wildly disparate personalities to please different sexual partners, but the flaccid execution of this promiscuous–New Yorkers circle jerk is more worthy of the clap than a round of applause.
